Ovarian Cyst, Hysteroscopy, Post Menopausal bleeding

Hi I don't know if anyone can advise or had a similar experience. I had a post menopausal bleed. I had 2 small polyps removed. 13 weeks later I received my results to say simple polyp. I had a follow up gynaecology appointment because during my previous transvaginal scan the consultant said that my ovary was enlarged, I had a cyst & my lining was thick. I was advised lately at the appointment that all looked ok. When the dr pulled up my details I noticed it said "CA125 carried out" but I had no CA125 blood test taken at my previous referral. Should I call the consultant & ask what is going on or just leave it since the consultant said all ok? I am a bit concerned that they have stated on my record that a CA125 test was carried out when it wasn't. How would they not know this because there would be no blood test result. I have some symptoms of back & pelvic pain plus urinating every hour. Just over thinking things because sometimes things can get missed. Many thanks

  • Hi Freddy68 and welcome to the forum.

It's great to hear that everything is looking ok although I'm sorry about the mistake you've noticed with the ca125 test.

As the ca125 test hasn't been carried out, it would be best to let them know. It will also give you the opportunity to discuss the concerns you currently have about your other symptoms and find out how that affects things moving forward.

Hopefully some of our members who have been in a similar situation will be along soon to offer their thoughts and advice but if you'd like to discuss this further with one of our cancer nurses you can give them a call on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're really easy to talk to and will do all they can to answer your questions and put your mind at ease.

    Kind regards,
