Pet scan that said lymph nodes seemed reactive?

Hello I am a 35 year old male who is concerned about some large lymph nodes in my neck my groin and my armpits. I had a pet scan a few years back and the report said they seemed reactive? Seemed being very vague wording! They have also not gone down since I've been sweating of a night a lot recently and also having a lot of stomach issues eg bloating after every meal. Also must state i was having Continuous low grade fever when all these tests were done at hospital. They couldn't find anything so referred me to a rheumatologist who done a few normal bloods then diagnosed me with vasculitis. I'm unsure whether I need to call my gp to get more investigations done regarding these lymph nodes ? Would appreciate some advice xx

    It sounds like you’ve been dealing with a lot, and it’s understandable to feel concerned given your symptoms and the PET scan report. The wording "seemed reactive" can indeed be vague and leave you with many questions.

    Given your ongoing symptoms and the fact that your lymph nodes haven’t gone down, it might be a good idea to reach out to your GP for further advice. It’s always better to discuss any lingering concerns with a healthcare professional who can guide you on the next steps.

    Whilst it's vague to us mere mortals, in medical terminology, reactive nodes means they have dealt with an infection or virus. All nodes go through a reactive process, which to you and I, means they have swelled/enlarged, due to this process. The thing about lymph nodes, it's very common once they have enlarged after an infection/virus that they remain palpable for the rest of your life. It's very common for lymphs never to revert to their pre infection size.

    However, if you are experiencing new or worrisome symptoms, you should go back and get checked over again.
