Womb cancer

Hi. I went to my doctor in January because I had blood on wiping after going to the loo,  He’s sent various wee samples off (and lost a lot)! Several times of not hearing anything I had to ring the surgery, only to be told there was no infection so no further action. I needed further action! I googled that it could be bladder cancer so he sent me for a camera in there and a cat scan. That wasn’t it! He said it might be thrush. It wasn’t. At one point I was told I had strep b. Still the bleeding was on and off. He sent me for a scan on my womb but hadn’t even told the specialist about the bleeding and smelly discharge . It turned out the lining of my womb is 22.9 Mm thick and she could see liquid filled cysts. . She then referred me to a gynaecologist who did a biopsy. That was 11 days ago  and I’m still in pain and very uncomfortable. I’ve been taking ibuprofen which just takes the edge off. How much longer will I have to wait.?

  • I’m so sorry! I’m in the same boat as you … had a hysteroscopy on Saturday, MRI as a due on Sunday. Still bleeding and very uncomfortable. The nurse who did the hysteroscopy said it was cancer. I’d had few symptoms, bleeding for a month or so. With hindsight had a few episodes of discharge, but pt that down to being 60 and se ally inactive for 20 years. Oh the irony! I’ve been told up to two weeks  or the biopsy results. The nurse booked the mri on the same day as she saw so I’m trying not to panic. Keep your chin up…we’ve got a long battle ahead of us xxx

  • I also had abnormal bleeding post menopause and have just had a scan which also showed a cyst on my right ovary and the lining is thick i had a biopsy about 3 weeks ago and they told me i would get my results by post why is it taking so long for the results

  • Hi so sorry to read this but Is that normal for a nurse to be able to tell you its cancer when you have had a hysteroscopy did they take a biopsy are you any further forward with the outcome i really wish you well and you win this long road and battle xxx

  • I don’t know if it’s normal … she took a biopsy as well, and said there was a cervical polyp and biopsies that too. My womb was full of fluid. When I got home I rang the Macmillan nurse and told them what had happened… They didn’t seem to think it was unusual. I’m grateful because she instigated an MRI scan that day and that’s booked for Sunday this week coming.

full of fluid. When I got home I rang the Macmillan nurse and told them what had happened… They didn’t seem to think it was unusual. I’m grateful because she instigated an MRI scan that day and that’s booked for Sunday this week coming, I don’t mind admitting that I’m really scared.

  • The MRI is Sunday … I can’t die yet. My daughters aren’t ready for me to go ! I did t really have symptoms until, about a month ago, but I’ve had sciatica for years and think that disguised any discomfort. On a positive note, I haven’t lost weight. I am really scared … but am trying tobe pragmatic about it all … most cancers of the uterus as curable, ms are caught in time, and there’s nothing I can do about it on my own. I can talk he talk, but I’m terrified inside.

  • I here you and have my fingers and toes crossed for you that it is curable if it is indeed cancer they say the first stage has no symptoms at all

i have been getting bloated stomach and pain in my lower back and lower tummy the cyst side of things another scan ro see if its grown but the other is totally out of my control i have gone through stages of anger upset fright and now feel numb and i have to wait for my results in the post to tempt my fate

  • Yes, feeling numb. Pretending it’s nothing, knowing it’s something. I’ve had some gentle bleeding for about a month, don’t think I had bloating and back pain has been normal because of sciatica. The pain change and became like a dragging pain in my tummy. I am angry … just retired and recently divorced; this is supposed to be my time. Try to stay positive … as you say its out of our control xx

  • Hey how did you get on hope it was a good outcome with the MRI scan ?

Still waiting on my biopsy results now on my 4th week so im hoping no news is good news
