Abdominal / hip discomfort now possibly Lymphoma

Hi all,

I recently contacted my GP due to ongoing abdominal pain, thinking it was gut related. I was referred to a gut specialist who thought it might be diverticulitis. So off I went for a CT scan which showed a 4cm mesenteric mass in the top of my abdomen with enlarged lymph nodes and possible lymphoma.
I’ve now had blood tests (awaiting results) and going for a PET-CT scan tomorrow. All in all it’s been 3 weeks since my appointment with gut specialist so it’s been a bit of a whirlwind.
I know that until I have scan results and biopsy results can’t really do much more than carry out my own research and educate myself but preparing myself for worse mentally.
If anyone else in a similar position, happy to connect and share stories.

  • Hello Jokes5,

While doing your own research is useful, it's also worth looking after your wellbeing at this time. When youre worried that you may have cancer, it can be tempting to look for answers online, but this can end up increasing anxiety rather than making you feel better. It might help to focus on other things while you wait for these results. Some advise on waiting for news is available on Cancer Chat.

    Best wishes,
