Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia

Hi everyone,

I don’t know where to really begin, but my Drs believe that I have Chronic lymphocytic leukemia. I just finished my undergrad degree and was about to start my masters program this year but now everything seems uncertain and bleak; quite honestly I am very scared. I am only 21 and did not think this would be happening to me. I was was wondering if anyone had any advice or any insight on the diagnosis process.

Thank you!

  • Hi Tatianalavi,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to hear about this and also that you are dealing with some uncertainty. It sounds like you're still waiting for some information from the medical team about what's going on, so I hope that you get this soon. Once you do, it may help a little in terms of understanding and also in terms of potential next steps.

It's difficult to advise specifically about the diagnosis process, as this can be different depending on the individual situation. Also I'm not sure if you are waiting on further tests for example. If you have any questions or concerns, do try to discuss these with your doctor at the next available opportunity.

You are also welcome to give our nurses a call if you'd like to talk things through. You can reach them on freephone 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5.

I hope that this forum can be of some help to you at this time.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
