  • Hello Pollyanna2610

I'm sorry to hear that you've been through treatment for breast cancer in the past few years. It's great to hear that treatment went well.

It's perfectly understandable that you're feeling anxious after seeing your GP and finding out that you were being referred to the lower GI team.

It's important to remember that there could be any number of causes for the symptoms that you've described other than cancer. Whilst your mind may naturally think about worst-case scenarios,  try to keep a positive mindset. Whilst this period of waiting is difficult, I'm sure you already know that worrying won't change the outcome but will only leave you feeling worse in the meantime.

You may want to give our team of nurses a call to talk things through with them. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information, and support they can along with helping you think about any questions you might want to ask at your appointment. If you'd like to talk with them they're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pmon 0808 800 4040.

Hopefully you won't have to wait too long for your appointment. Do keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
