Hi, I’m sorry you find yourself here and for the anxiety you’re going through. 

So at the breast clinic you will have a breast examination usually followed by an ultrasound and mammogram (depending on how old you are) They can usually tell a lot from these images and they can often reassure you just from looking at these, if they feel something needs to be looked at more closely they may do a biopsy (which is what I’m very anxiously awaiting results for) and you will then get these results 1-2weeks later. 

 I know it’s an awful wait, but you have taken the best first step in getting checked. Stay off google as it really isn’t helpful and instead do just as you have done and reach out on places like this as there are many lovely people here who can offer support and advice. Big hugs for you xx 

Thanks for your reply. I’m 40. Will they do all the tests they need on the same day? It’s the not knowing that’s freaking me out. I’m so not ready for any of this.

They should do all the tests the same day, definitely the scans which can tell them so much and if they feel the lump needs to be biopsied they may do that there and then too, I had my biopsy the same day, just not the results. 

It is a horrible time, and your mind will wander to all sorts of scary places - but keep busy, and away from google. Pop on here for a chat if you need to ask questions as dr google is not your friend and definitely needs sacking!

From what I’ve read the category 3 is quite promising to be a negative result so lots of luck to you  

When did you have your biopsy? 

I am so anxious and my appointment isn’t until the week after next. Now I’ve had a rash appear on my biopsy boob and that’s it I’ve googled and scared myself so much xx

I had my biopsy just over 2 weeks ago I have to go wednesday for the results what category did they give you I feel physically sick xx

I didn’t get one! So I have no idea. Did they ultrasound and mammogram? I couldn’t have a mammogram as had one in May so they didn’t want to do another. 

I know how you feel, my appetite has pretty much gone and I just have a nervous tummy. Some people get their results quicker and so two weeks seems so long as every hour feels like a day! Xx 

It was my first ever mamogram I got called back another mamogram ultra sound and biopsy and put a marker in I lost my husband 10 months ago im grieving and this is making everything worse I have been calling them every day to push them xx

 I’m so sorry to hear about your husband, as if this isn’t a hard enough time for you anyway, this added anxiety really won’t help Do you have a good support network? It’s good they are being so careful and checking you, it sounds like it could be precautionary. Did they say anything about your lump? Xx
