Uterine/ Womb cancer after menopause

Hi, lost my mum when she was 75 to Breast Cancer and Secondary Bone Cancer, three years ago.

I’m now post-menopause and had op today for coil removal because it was stuck - surgeon discovered enlarged uterine lining which ties in with my GP saying recent blood tests show me as anaemic. Plus, over the last 8 months or so I’ve been bleeding.

a bit worried!

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your mum and the health challenges you're facing right now. It sounds like you've been through a lot recently, and it's completely understandable to feel worried given your symptoms and recent findings.

It's good that you're in touch with your GP and have undergone the necessary procedures to investigate the bleeding and anaemia. Hopefully, the removal of the coil and the findings from the enlarged uterine lining will help your medical team to understand what's going on and find the best way to support you.

Hopefully, others who have had similar experiences will come along shortly to offer advice. That being said, if you feel like asking some questions to our team of nurses, they'd be happy to talk things over with you Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m on this freephone 0808 800 4040.

Last but not least, please remember you're not alone, there is always someone here if you feel like a chat.

    All the best,
