Waiting Biopsy results

Hi everyone

Very new to this site.. it's currently 4:42am and im laid in bed with my mind racing.

I had a sharp burning pain a few week ago coming from my upper outer breast area which made me have a feel around.. i found a lump straight away from the same area. I went to my GP as soon as i got back from my Holiday and got reffered for 2 week wait. I went to my appointment yesterday and i had ultrasound test to which then turned into a mammagram and biopsy.. she did two areas where the lump is and just abover under my armpit.

I then saw the consultant who was not positive at all and told me to start thinking of the worse.

Im 33 years old with a 2 year old and not handling it very good at all. Please can someone talk to me.. give me positive stories or breast cancer.

Or did this similar situation ever happen to anyone before and the results turned out benign? Im thinking of my daughter more than anything, she needs her mummy.

Thank you for taking your time to reply.x

  • Mine is the upper breast. I have just read yours i have also 2 biopsies taken. They did a small cut in mine and did a vacuum biopsy which cuts off a piece of the lump and then a biopsy near it i think that was just the standard needle one.

Honestly its awful! Luckily my girl dont know that worry.. she knows something is going off because she is out of routine at mo as i am staying at my parents house. If it is what it is i just want them both off no messing about i dont even care about having no breasts! If they dont do it my mum is taking me private she says. We will see what happens.

I spoken to my GP about anxiety and he gave me some tablets called phenergan it helps the nervous system and its been helping me feel more relaxed. You can buy them over counter too but will have to go to different chemists to get each time. Make sure they dont interact if you are on medication. Here to chat. We can help each other. X

  • It sounds like they were so thorough with yours which is amazing! Did you have to wait long to be seen after finding the lump? I wonder why they only did a core biopsy with mine, I really don’t know much about it all although I was expecting a biopsy I was still so upset and them saying solid added to my anxiety, I was just laying there shaking.

We can definitely support each other, it makes you feel less alone when speaking to someone going through the same - although I wish we weren’t xxx

  • Thank you Jomalime. I'm just glad it's done now. Feeling much more normal after a couple of hours. I was feeling quite faint after I woke up and for a few hours. Thank you for your good wishes. I've found this forum a source of strength and positivity.  Xx

  • I was waiting around 2 week as my gp did refer me which is standard now with breast lumps etc. Did the constultant say anything afterwards? They just told me to expect it being that.. i wont use the word was quite a shock i burst into tears.. i have it in my head its that now which i think that was the whole point of her saying it.. so its a bonus if it is benign. Not had any other symptoms of anything either.

I was not expecting one either i just laid there and cried.. its awful.. i wish we was not going through this too. The ' why me' as been going through my head too.. along with feeling a bit angry about it and sadness. So grateful my mum is here to watch my toddler she is so full on. She has been so naughty too like she knows something is happening. Keeps me on my toes though this one! Where are you from? Im from Barnsley south yorkshire. X

  • Aww she sounds a little cheeky one and a fantastic distraction, although it’s lovely your mum is there to help as all this emotion definitely takes it out of you.

There are stories where people have been told the same as you and had positive news so you never know and they don’t know until they get the results.

My dr said it could be benign but they won’t know until after the biopsy, but many have been told that too and ended up with a scary outcome.

  • Hi GL91. I totally understand the 'why me". It was one of my main thoughts too. Buy it's wained over time and I'm focusing on getting through one step at a time.

Work hsd paid for counselling for me and I have to say it really has helped. I can definitely recommend it.

Let us know how you get on! Sending lots of positive vibes.

The archer - I'm sorry you are also going through this. Again I'm sending lots of positive vibes to you too.  Again. Let us know how you get on.  Strong women supporting each other! X

  • Sorry about that I didn’t finish writing my message then hit the wrong button.

    I am from Kent xx

  • How long ago was you diagnosed?  The more i have read the more people i have seen in there 30's going through it.. and it suppose to be uncommon. I dont think it is anymore with the sounds of it.

I do just want to crack on with it all now once i go tomorrow i just want to know plan etc and get it out whatever it is. X

  • I know someone that has happened to was told same as me and was benign.

Thats good they have said that to you if they say it could be benign though! I mean they dont 100% know until they get them results back. I know treatmens now for breast is so good too. My mum been talking to others and the more you talk the more people seem to come out and say there sister had it or aunt etc and that was like 15 years ago! I just want to look back to this time in a couple of years and think wow its been like 5 years since that happened. X

  • Thank you that’s really appreciated xxx
