Normal Blood Pressure and Heart rate

Hello, hoping for some guidance for those in the know. for 6 months I’ve been aware of some strange things going on. Recurring Deja vu that would happen several times within 1/2 days and make me feel quite weird, more frequent headaches , waking up with a dead arm and although it’s always the same side and I can still do normal things with it, I’m aware I struggle more than I’d did to open a bottle of water or something where you need a bit of grip, I’m not a slight girl, it wouldn’t normally be a problem but k don’t seem to have the strength I did. Plus dizzy speed that lasted 48 hours, among other things but, I go to hospital and doctors and my blood pressure, heart rate is normal and o can do the neurologist quick tests and fine. Is it really possible I might have a Tumor, but still have normal blood pressure and heart rate? I am awaiting CT Scan, neurologist appointment and full bloods. I just want to know if it possible with normal BP and HR.

  • I don't think blood pressure or heart rate have anything to do with midt forms of cancer. Mine were certainly normal when I had thyroid cancer.

Have the doctors suggested that you might have a tumour? What form of cancer are they concerned about?

  • Hi NJonesy1808,

A very warm welcome to our forum. I am sorry to hear that you have all of these worrying symptoms, but glad to hear that you are getting them investigated. Most of us on this site have/have had cancer, or are caring for someone with cancer. We are not doctors, so cannot answer your question. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer and my hypertension and raised heart rate, bore no indication of my cancer. There are specific tests that are used to detect cancer and if there is any suspicion of this, a biopsy of the area is usually taken. Tests such as mammogram, ultrasound, CT scan, or MRI Scan, will show up a tumour, but the biopsy is then needed to determine whether the tumour is malignant or benign.

I see that you are awaiting an appointment with a neurologist, as well as for a CT scan and bloods. These are the tests that are more likely to show a tumour. I hope that these appointments come through for you quickly and that there will be no sign of a tumour. There are many other explanations that could be found for your symptoms, nearly all of them less serious than cancer. I sincerely hope that your eventual diagnosis will be for one of these, when your neurologist finally reaches a conclusion.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
