Post op results tomorrow

I was diagnosed in Feb this year with a small 11mm invasive ductal carcinoma with some calcification behind. Further mammogram and biopsy showed a larger area of dcis in my other breast so was put forward for bilateral mastectomies and sentinel node biopsies. I also was referred for genetic testing due to it being bilateral, family history and my age (45). I didn't receive any kind of treatment before the op. I am now 3 weeks post op and have my results appointment tomorrow and just don't know what to expect. Is anyone's experience similar to mine? I feel fine with the op, uncomfortable but OK and have chosen to remain flat. Huge hugs to you all xx

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat, Calh.

Thank you for sharing your story. It sounds like you've been through a lot, and it's completely understandable to feel uncertain about what to expect at your results appointment.

It's good to hear that you're recovering well from the operation and that you're feeling okay, despite the discomfort. It’s also positive that you’ve taken proactive steps like genetic testing, given your family history and age.

Hopefully, someone with a similar experience can share their insights with you. In the meantime please know that you are not alone, and we're always here to listen if you ever need a friendly ear.

    Best wishes,
