Liver Lesions found and told it could be cancer. Very scared.

Good Morning, I had an ultrasound scan last Morning for possible gallstones as I've got pain under my right ribs. No gallstones and I was told all looks fine. Wednesday morning I get a call from my GP surgery to book a telephone appointment with a GP to discuss the scan. GP calls and says that my liver is coarse and ragged with multiple lesions that they don't know what they are. The report is a 'Goldstar reporr' meaning there's a possible cancer diagnosis. The GP has written an urgent letter to the hospital to ask what to do next. I had a blood transfusion in 1983! Am scared!

  • Hi Soph0506,

I'm sorry to hear of your worries, I know it is difficult to deal with this sort of uncertainty and also the waiting for further information.

Hopefully it won't be long to wait to find out more, and I hope that you get some more information from your doctor soon about the next steps.

Try to keep busy in the meantime while you are waiting, and take things a day at a time, to try to keep your mind off the worries.

As I say, I hope you get the information you need soon.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
