I have a Colorectol/lower GI booked for Thursday following a positive Fit test. I have had lower back and stomach aches as well as diarrhea and constipation for 6 months. My bloods were fine accept for low vit D. I am really worried
Did they say when next appointment is? Is it quite a bit away? I assume they have tattooed the polyps so they can keep an eye on them. I believe that’s “good” news? I think that when cancer is detected it’s standard procedure tell you on the very same day. This is what happened in my Gran’s case and in the case of so many others I’ve spoken to — all diagnosed instantly after colonoscopy and my Gran and others mention seeing the cancerous growth themselves on the screen. The endoscopists are highly trained and experienced to spot malignancies, so I’m guessing none were found as you weren’t told otherwise.
polyps are benign, though do have potential to turn into malignancies but this isn’t like a sure thing. My gran’s colon was absolutely FULL of them (too many to even count) and all the ones that were biopsied were completely benign, the cancer was a tumour that was distinctly very different in look and size from the polyps. Hopefully they can just remove all your polyps next time and send you on your way. I hope the prep isn’t too bad next time!
I have to go back on the 7th of June to do it all again it's constantly on my mind. Tried to take my mind off if it the weekend but it hard. Fingers crossed your biopsies come back clear.
