I have today learned I have stage 4 HPV and severe dyskaryosis, I'm so scared, I've had really bad abdominal pain the last few weeks, could this be related and has anyone else had these results ?

Hello Girlie,
I am sorry to hear that you have the news you received today is causing you so much anxiety. There is information on our website on what abnormal cervical cells are which I hope will reassure you as well as on treatment if you have abnormal cervical cells. Learn more too about what happens after your treatment for abnormal cervical cells. It is worth bearing in mind that an abnormal cervical screening test result means that you have changes in the cells covering the neck of your womb (cervix) but these changes are not cancer but the treatment is successful in ensuring that these changes do not develop into cancer in the future. This is something that so many ladies on the forum have been through before and I hope that they will be along shortly to share their treatment experiences with you.
While you wait to chat with others I thought you might want to read a page from our website with information on HPV and cancer. Try not to worry too much though as severe dyskaryosis is routinely treated. I am not sure if the bad abdominal pain you've experienced in the last few weeks is related but it might be worth bringing it up with your doctor if you haven't done so already just so they are aware of it and give you something to alleviate this pain.
Best wishes,
Lucie, Cancer Chat Moderator
