  • Welcome to Cancer Chat, Valleygirl7.

I can appreciate why you’re feeling worried with your recent smear results showing HPV positive and borderline changes, particularly after not having a smear for six years.

Going through menopause can bring about many changes, and it's easy to attribute symptoms to that. It's good that you've had your smear test now, and it sounds like you're taking the right steps by seeking advice and sharing your concerns.

Many people here have been through similar experiences and you're not alone. It might be helpful to talk to others who have been in your situation so I hope you'll get to chat with some of our members who can relate to what you're going through at the moment.

While you wait to chat with others I thought you might want to read a page from our website with information on HPV and cancer. Also, if you browse the forum for 'HPV positive' you'll find many threads that might be of interest, like this one that got a reply from Nurse Julia: HPV positive

And speaking of our nurses, if you feel like asking them some questions, they'd be happy to chat with you Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m on this freephone 0808 800 4040.

Take care, and I hope you find the support and information you need.

    Best wishes,
