Does everyone get face to face follow up after MRI?

Hi everyone

I'm currently under 2 week referral.  I have a lump in my throat on one side around where tonsils should be (I have no tonsils). GP referred me ENT wasn't sure either and kept me on 2 week pathway and sent me for an MRI. That was a week ago.

Does anyone know if you have an MRI does everyone get a face to face follow up with results or just a letter? He said in my appointment if it is cancerous I would see him again if not would probably just get report through post? A bit odd i thought?

    It seems that things are different in different health boards. In Wales, I have family who have had MRI scans recently.  One received a telephone call, another was asked to go to the hospital for a video call from another consultant out of the area. I am in Scotland and have had letter/phone call and face to face result given.

    So, it seems varied across the UK and health boards.
