On and off abdominal pain (mostly right side) for the last 6 months. Getting worse since my periods came back after having a baby last year (periods came back February). A few referrals to the local hospital, but except for slightly elevated ALTs and CRP (which then go back to normal a week later) no obvious signs of anything wrong, except the pain when it comes on. GP ordered a FIT test as well as refering for some scans (still on wait list for those). It came back positive, and she has referred me for urgent investigations possible CT scan/ colonoscopy in next couple of weeks.
Given the symptoms are always worst 5 days/ week before my periods, and given than I had a completely clear colonoscopy in January 2021, how likely is that this is something really sinister? I have mild pain right side/ lower right back. No issues shown on ultrasound for kidneys, uterus/ ovaries or appendix.
I didn't really take in what the GP was saying, other than urgent referral.
