8 week mark

Tomorrow (Monday 13th) will be exactly 8 weeks since I had my skin excision biopsy.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that this will finally be week I receive my results. It’s been an awful wait since February for this to be over.
I’m due to go on holiday very soon, so I’m hoping at this stage I’ll have a definite answer. All I have so far is suspected skin cancer. Friends have tried to reassure saying if it was bad it would have come back by now. But then like I say, I really hope it does come back ok.
but if it’s benign, why are people being made to wait 3 months for that answer; it’s torture for their mental health

  • Really hope you hear something soon. I have another three weeks to wait for my biopsy.

What's so annoying is that I haven't done much socially these past few months but I have lots of nice things booked for June. I've already had to cancel a theatre trip due to my biopsy being  booked for the exact same day. I'm hoping I can still go away at the end of June for a planned weekend due to my excision being on the sole of my foot. Then it'll be who knows how long for results. You can't really enjoy anything.

  • I hope you get to enjoy all the things you’ve booked for June. I’m still awaiting my results. Was hoping yesterday would be the day. I spoke to my gp surgery and they told me that either the labs, or hospital still have not yet released any results for me. This is the 8th week now so I really hope it’s not much longer, the painful wait feels just as exhausting as the process does all together
