Poor you 50 days is a long time to experience bleeding and I am sorry to hear that you experienced pain, clots and blood in your urine. It's good that this is being thoroughly investigated but I am afraid I don't have the medical expertise myself to tell you what these ultrasound results might mean. It sounds like the GP needs some advice from an expert on this and it's good that they have written to the gynaecologist for advice. I hope that you will get an appointment soon to be seen by the specialist to discuss these important results.

Hopefully you will meet other members of our community who have experienced something similar before and I hope that they will come and share their story with you.

Hi, I am seeing my gp tomorrow as I too have been bleeding and have had cramps. Three years into menopause. I am terrified and don’t know what to do. Here’s wishing us both good news. Take care

Hi, I too am post menopausal, had 10 days of bleeding in Feb, I had an abdominal and internal ultrasound followed by hysteroscopy with biopsies. Results were negative for cancer or pre cancer. They found 1 polyp whigh they removed and found unexplained scarring in uterus. 

Fast forward to today, I am still having bleeding and cramping, and pelvic pain. I am booked to have a total hysterectomy plus bilateral salpingo and oophorectomy(both overies and tubes) next Monday. 

What I can tell you from the information gleaned from my consultant gynaecologist oncologist is that only 10% of women with post menopausal bleeding go on to have cancer. On the other hand 90% of women with uterine type cancer have bleeding but it is most likely to be a benign condition.

I understand your worry, the waiting is horrible. I have gone private so things moved on fairly quickly but via the NHS you really must insist that you get on the 2 week cancer pathway for post menopausal bleeding. My GP went to do this immediately as soon as I mentioned the bleeding but of course I did not require it due to private healthcare. 

Fingers crossed we all get a good result.
