Lump in left breast

Hello I (34 female) found a lump in my left breast after my son spilt a drink down me and as I was cleaning it off myself I felt a lump. So I left it a month and realised it’s still there and with a push from my husband I went to get it checked. The nurse asked me to lie down and examined both breast then asked me where I believe the lump is I showed her and she said yes that’s where I feel it to. She said she does not think it’s anything to worry about but put a referral in to the breast clinic. I have my appointment next week. I am constantly feeling this lump hoping it would go away but of course it’s still there. Am not getting my husband to constantly feel it I keep thinking it’s a waste of time and it’s just going to be a cyst of Breast tissue but my question is would the nurse have put in a referral if she thought it was a cyst or breast tissue? She clearly thinks it’s something that needs checked ? Or is this standard do they send everyone to breast clinic if a lump is felt from a GP or nurse ?
thank you

  • Hey, I am in a similar position to you, and have had all the feelings that you are feeling. It is guidance to send anyone 30 or over with a lump to be referred to the 2 week breast clinic, so she is just doing what the guidance tells them to do. I hope everything works out well for you xxx
