Waiting and going insane - 4.3cm Lesion Duodenum

Hello Everyone,
Sending you all so much love.

They recently found a 4.3cm hyperdense lesion, Inseparable from Duodenum, they said this is indeterminate. So I have no clue what it is (the more I google, the more confused I get, so I have tried to stay away from Dr Google).

This was referred this a Urgent Cancer Referral and after a discuss with the nurse on the phone, they then had an MDT meeting and I have how got a Hospital Appointment with the Upper GI Consultant on Tuesday.

The waiting is driving me insane. Has anyone else had similar to this? If so, what were your next steps? I think 4.3cm is quite large but I honestly don't know?

Unsure if I want anyone to come to the appointment with me or not, I don't want my mum to worry.

Female, 33yr old.

  • Hello Shutter1

I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with some ongoing health concerns. Undoubtedly it's been a worrying time for you. Trying to avoid Dr. Google is certainly a positive point. Unfortunately, we know that many people turn to the internet for answers and end up feeling more confused and anxious.

I wanted to post to wish you all the best with your appointment tomorrow. Hopefully the team will be able to give you some reassurance about the information they have and answer some of your questions.

Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,

  • Hello Jenn,
Thank you so much for your message and for checking in.
I am so pleased to say that the results were good.
The lesion is a cystic lesion in the region of the uncinate process/D3.

They said I need to have an OGD to exclude duodenal pathology as stomach also dilated but no solid enhancing component.

The OGD will be within the next two weeks and then I will know exactly what is going on.

I hope you are having a lovely day and I really appreciate the support you have given me x
