Abdominal Lump Lower Left Quadrant

Hi

I just wanted to hear some other opinions and see if anyone was in similar situation to me?

I first found an abdominal lump lower left quadrant in October and it has since doubled in size. My GP first said it was poo! I have other symptoms, constipation, heaviness, loss of apetite, backache and so was sent to have the CA125 blood test which came back raised. I had two ultrasounds (abdominal and transvaginal) and was told they could only see Fibroids and now awaiting a CT scan. I'm extremely anxious as I also have the BRCA 1+2 gene. Also the sonographer said she could only see the left ovary in the abdominal scan. At this point I'm assuming the worst.

  • Hello Queenie-3

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some ongoing health concerns and that following your recent tests you're now waiting on a CT scan. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious about what may be going on for you.

We know that for many people this period of waiting and uncertainty can be difficult and often our minds will run to a worst-case scenario. It can sometimes help to talk with someone about how you're feeling and I wonder if you might find it useful to chat things through with one of our nurses. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information, and support they can. If you'd like to talk with them they're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Hopefully you won't have to wait too long for the CT appointment and the doctor will be able to give you some answers and reassurance about the next steps.

Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
    Jenn
