Prostrate cancer/ bone cancer?

Hi my partner has normal psa had a biopsy about two years ago and MRI as he was peeing blood and blood in semen told all ok and this happens sometimes not to worry? He has been peeing blood all this time but last month it became much more with clots and he said it feels he is sitting on something between his anus and penis which feels very uncomfortable?

He was referred again and the specialist didn’t seem really concerned but on examination he change his mind and said the prostrate felt hard and wanted him to have another MRI. We have just had a call to say his psa level is still within range but something has shown on the mri they are not sure what it is and have advised  another biospsy and also want to do a bone  scan?
Obvious very worried that they missed something two years ago? So wondering if anyone has any experience of something similar?
thank you

  • Hello Lesleyjr,

It's good that your partner was referred again after experiencing this bleeding and symptoms - it was very important to get it checked. I am sorry to hear that something was flagged on the MRI and they have advised another biopsy. I can imagine this is a very anxious time for you both and that it's worrying for you to have to be now waiting for the bone scan but I hope that all these tests will shed some light on what is going on so that you have a clear and definite diagnosis. It's reassuring that his PSA is still within normal range and it's completely understandable that you are worried something was missed two years ago - hopefully you will hear from others on the forum who have had a similar experience before and I hope that they will come and share their story with you.

In the meantime, I thought I would share with you helpful tips to help you cope during this time of uncertainty

Keeping everything crossed for you that it all turns out to be nothing too concerning and that they will treat your partner so that he no longer has all this blood and symptoms.

    Best wishes,
