Skin cancer biopsy- your wait times

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has recently had a skin cancer biopsy and awaiting results or has received results?

I know they give a rough estimate of 2-8 weeks but if anyone from the North West (or anywhere really) could let me know how long they’ve waited I’d find it helpful. I’m managing anxieties okay but the longer I wait the more anxious I feel.

    Hi Francesca,

    Hopefully, the fact you are so young will go in your favour & the results will be clear. If not, there is still every chance it's been caught early & will be successfully treated. Keep hugging your little one to keep your mind off the wait & I hope you hear very soon xx

    I had a mole removed on 20th March for suspected melanoma. Was told results would be upto 8 weeks. It’s 6 weeks tomorrow & still no news. Dermatologist said he could see early changes at my 1st appointment. I’m still hopeful that the ‘no news is good news’ saying is true. I’m on a Fb group and the majority had early results for skin cancer. My mind is still going back and forth. The waiting is torture. My wound is still wide open and sore as it couldn’t be stitched, so a constant reminder of my daily wait. Hopefully only 2 weeks to go.
