Reactive lymph node

Hi I was diagnosed with TN breast cancer 2 years ago.
had all my treatment and a lumpectomy and a auxiliary node clearance. 1 node still positive rest clear so had oral chemo after.
I’ve just had my first year mammogram and have been recalled as have a 9mm reactive lymph node showing on the mammogram. my appointment will be 5 weeks after my mammogram.
should I be worried that the cancer is back.

  • Welcome to the Cancer Chat community Sutcliffe although I'm sorry to hear a reactive lymph node was found during your first yearly mammogram.

It's completely understandable, and natural, to be worried about this but if you can, try not to jump to any conclusions or think the worst until you know more. Much easier said than done I know, especially when you have to wait 5 weeks until your next appointment, but I hope this article I've found on how to cope with waiting for news will help to keep your mind at bay until then.

I'm sure you will receive some support and advice from our members soon but if you'd like to discuss any of this further with one of our cancer nurses, you can do so on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

We're thinking of you Sutcliffe and will have our fingers crossed everything will be o.k.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
