Breast Cysts

Hi there, am a bit confused and looking for some advice please.

I have a history of breast cysts and have twice had them drained. The last time I was referred 1 year ago I had a lump which was painful and went through the mammogram and ultrasound. I was then informed by a nurse that it was nothing to worry about and I could leave. I asked to see the Doctor as I was in pain, he more or less told me that I had to accept the fact I was prone to cysts and the new cyst wasn’t large enough to deal with and basically goodbye and get on with it. I am now in quite a bit of pain. I’ve had a hysterectomy years ago but still have ovaries so pain could be hormonal although been going on for a good few weeks now. If I’m supposed to accept the cysts how long can I leave it before asking for it to be checked and drained? I’m also allergic to painkillers so haven’t really got much option except to put up with the discomfort and pain. Just wondered what other peoples thoughts are on this? Many thanks

  • Hello bonbon7350

I'm sorry to hear that you're struggling with breast cysts at the moment. Living with chronic pain can be really draining and debilitating.

Please do make an appointment to see your GP regarding this. It may be that they want to refer you back to the breast clinic again or can offer some advice about pain management.

I hope that things settle and improve for you soon.

    Best wishes,
