You did the right thing in getting in touch with your GP after you noticed this hard bump on your rib next to your breast - it's always a good idea to flag any new lump you encounter and the doctor will be able to check it and tell you whether it needs looking into further. 

You mentioned you were waiting for a call back from the doctor's. Has the doctor been in touch since and have you found anything out? 

Other members of our forum may have had a similar lump on their rib close to their breast and I hope that they will be along shortly and share their experience with you.
