Lymphoma

Hello!

I was referred to Haematology following new swelling in my neck, the doctor has said he can’t feel anything of concern and that the other one is likely a saliva gland but I had previously had this scanned and it was confirmed to be a lymph node. I can definitely feel the lump is still there but he has referred me for ultrasound. He has said it is unlikely to be anything concerning but I don’t feel he thoroughly felt as he felt the neck from behind but the lump can only be felt from the front, has anyone had anything similar where doctor couldn’t feel a lump but it showed on an ultrasound? I didn’t feel like I went into detail enough about my symptoms so don’t feel he got the overall picture. Has anyone been told it is unlikely to be anything but then found out it was? I am not much of a worrier so not overly concerned but more concerned if something is missed.

  • Hello BoBoPink

I'm sorry to hear that you have some concerns about a neck lump. It's good to hear that you've already seen a Doctor and that they have referred you for an ultrasound to investigate this.

It's understandable that you're feeling anxious but hopefully, the ultrasound results will bring you some reassurance.

If you'd like to talk things through with one of our nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040,  Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

    Best wishes,
