Hysteroscopy and polyp removal

Hi I'm 50 years of age haven't been officially deemed as going though the menopause as last period was around 7 months ago. However have pink vaginal discharge, pelvic pain and sometimes back ache. Also have iron deficiency anemia. I recently had two biopsies of my endometrial lining and a large polyp removed. I've been waiting over a month for results is this normal? Abnormal bleeding as now restarted I was hoping it was the polyp what was causing it but seems not. Really worried as I had breast cancer 10 years ago.

  • Hello Samboo

I'm sorry to hear that you're currently dealing with some ongoing health concerns and that you're waiting for the results of a recent biopsy. It's understandable that you're worried about what may be causing your symptoms.

As you've been waiting over a month now and have not heard anything regarding your results then it would seem reasonable to get in touch with the hospital to ask when you may have some news. Hopefully they will be able to give you some reassurance.

In the meantime, if you're concerned about the bleeding then do get back in touch with your GP for some advice and support in managing this.

If you'd like to talk thing through with one of our nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

I do hope that you have some news soon.

    Best wishes,
