Worrying 2 week referrals

Had my smear today havent had one for 8 years.

The jolly atmosphere changed so quickly! It was so painful which it never has been before! ( ive had bleeding during intercourse and my discharge changed a few months ago) GOP was called in for second opinion and said 2 week referal. Went feom laughing and joking to rubbing my arm and saying if i have any questions just give them a call and theyd get me in same day. This is what consultation notes say…. Im so worries rn

Advised unable to see cervix and could see area i was not sure about on examination, additionally with symptom of postcoital bleeding.

Advised after DW duty Dr fast track referral reccomended to rule out possible cancer.

  • Unable to viualise cervix but ?mass of dark/red wrinkled tissue seen to upper right of high vagina.

    Unable to identify this area/mass.

    Vaginal walls also obstructive during examination.

    Pt in discomfort when speculum opened.

    Pt reports previous smear test no difficulties, cervix easily seen and no discomfort.

    I am so sorry to hear you went through this during your smear test appointment. I can imagine it was a little bit frightening for you to be told you were going to be given a 2 week referral. Unfortunately no one here will have the medical expertise to interpret or understand your consultation notes but I hope that you will hear from the experiences of others who have been through something similar.
