Awaiting colonoscopy

Has anyone been referred for a colonoscopy and afterwards found it to be something other than worse case scenario? Sorry if this is too much information but has anyone noticed dark looking (possibly blood) in normal stools? And once had colonoscopy found it to be something other than worse case scenario?

    I know this must be very stressful but it's good to hear you've been referred for a colonoscopy.

    Hi I am seeing the consultant today as I’m having toilet issues and I’m hoping he orders a colonoscopy to put my mind at ease. I’ve noticed over the past 3 days my stool has darker bits and the water is slightly pink. It looks like a bit of mucus/blood. I’m really scared but reading lots of things on here has helped and I just want to get to the root cause.
