fibroadenoma/ itching

Hi everyone

i’m 20 years old and found a lump in my right boob about 3 years ago when i was 16/17. i didn’t do anything about it as i was scared and i just believed it was going to go away. At 18 i could still feel the lump as my boobs did also grow in size so i decided to call the gp. they referred me to a breast clinic and it happened ti be a fibroadenoma except not only was it 1 , i had 3 in my left boob and 2 tiny ones in my right. Ever since then i tried not to worry and wish i could get them removed but the doctors said they weren’t big enough and i should just keep checking for any changes. I found that so annoying as i believe it should be your choice !

Fast forwarding to now i haven’t seen changes in my fibroadenoma size but i have had a very itchy nipple in my right boob for a while . I went to the gp and they said they don’t see a problem, gave me some cream and told me i might want to buy new bra materials as it might be due to fabric . the cream worked for a while but now it’s stopped working a my nipple is extremely itchy , has crust around it and sometimes oozes or has shiny skin. i don’t know what to do because now i believe i might have paget but i know the doctors will tell me i have eczema because they love to dismiss everything. i’m so worried i often cry because i’m so young and a feel like all these things keep happening to me. has anyone experienced anything similar please

  • Welcome to the forum Happygirl101 although I'm sorry to hear about your symptoms and for the distress they are causing.

As the cream is no longer working and your symptoms have got worse, you will need to go back to your GP to let them know. If you have more than one doctor working at your GP surgery and feel like your current doctor isn't listening to your concerns, you could try getting a second opinion from a different doctor.

I know this must be very worrying so if you'd like to talk any of this through with one of our nurses, they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They are very supportive and will do all that they can to help.

Hopefully some of our members who have found themselves in a similar situation will offer their thoughts and advice to you soon as well.

    Kind regards,
