I have had a cough for about 7 weeks, it's definitely getting better, it's never produced phlegm and it's worse at night , i have no other symptoms. I went to the drs yesterday and I was lucky enough to go to my local hospital as they do walk in x-rays . I had the x-ray and when he came back the radiographer said there was something on the x-ray, he said maybe a infection and that he would send the results to my Dr on Monday to discuss with me. Because it's now the weekend I am just really anxious and worried it's lying cancer, I am a smoker ,roughly 10/13 a day but I am never ill and my immune system is very good . The last time I see a Dr was 2015,I had tests then as my bloods were a bit hi for about a year , I had a heart test ,x-ray and more bloods, they were all good ..

I'm just hoping it's a infection that needs treating ,I shouldn't of left it for 7 weeks to get checked , my friend said if the radiographer thought it was serious he would of got a consultant to look at the x-ray there and then and recommend that I have a CAT scan.

But now because I'm having to wait my anxiety is through the roof and I feel like my heart is going to come out of my chest .
