Worried, breast biopsy and now MRI

Hi everyone,

So my 46 year old partner discovered a large lump that appeared extremely quickly in one of her breasts.

She was referred urgently to hospital where they did 3 inconclusive mammograms and an ultrasound, again inconclusive. So they did needle biopsies there and then.

The Doctors said the imaging wasn't good because of the density of her breast tissue.

We waited 3 weeks and have now received a txt message asking her to go back to the hospital in 3 days, and worryingly a seperate phone call from a different hospital asking her to go in 2 weeks for a full body MRI scan. Has this let the cat out of the bag before her appointment in 3 days at which were now expecting to be told she has cancer?

What is everyone's views on what were going through please?

  • Hi superdeviant,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I can understand your concerns following the appointment bookings. I see that it's not too long for you to wait for next appointment - it's difficult for anyone to advise on what the situation may be, but it sounds like you will be finding out more soon, and the doctor will be the best person to talk this all through with. If you have any particular questions, make a note of these so you can discuss what you want to during the appointment. I hope that things go OK, and we are always here for support on the forum if you need it.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
