Cancer in the lymph area

Hey ,

So over the last couple of months especially I’ve started to get a really severe pain in the side of my neck . Around Nov-Jan I kept getting a really swollen tonsil on the one side which also is where I’m getting the pain . To the point I was struggling to swallow , eat and drink , I was back and forth with the doctors about this and they kept prescribing me anti biotics , however there was a lump in my lymph note . The lump started to get bigger and then I got scared so I tried to forget about it until the pain got more severe . I suffer really bad with sweats right now and I get very itchy at times . I get migraines on a daily basis especially when I’m moving my neck a lot and that will remain the whole day and the pain will be all in my neck and behind my ears . Please can someone tell me what they think this is , I’m terrified to even think it could be cancer .

  • Hi Summer2000,

Poor you it's been a very stressful few months going back and forth to the doctor's and feeling that you are not getting anywhere with this. It sounds like you are in a lot of pain and as the lump is also getting bigger and you are suffering from sweats and getting very itchy, it would be worth going back to your GP and telling them about all these symptoms including the daily migraines. Unfortunately no one here will be able to tell you what it is but I hope that you will hear from the experiences of others who have had something similar in the past. Try and talk to a doctor about all these issues and if you want to see a different GP, there is information on our website on getting a second opinion

I hope you find out more soon and that it all turns out to be nothing of concern.

    Best wishes,
