Hi,
I have had swollen underarm lymph nodes for, as far as I know, around 2-3 months now. I only found them as I kept getting shooting pains in my left underarm and then decided to have a good check and finding a small lump, so could be longer than that. Fast forward 3 weeks, I had an appointment at a breast clinic and during my examination the Dr found another in the other armpit. I had an ultrasound scan, but that doctor only scanned the initial one and not the new discovered one. She was very blunt, said "I'm not worried." And walked off without me able to say anything.
The other doctor advised to keep an eye, said that he was not concerned at all, but to come back in 4 weeks if it gets bigger. It's been 4 weeks, they're still there and the one that I was unaware of, has now increased more than the initial one, I'd say it's around 2cm. So, back to the GP who has asked me to wait another 4 weeks and then will refer me back to the breast clinic.
My question is, why are they referring me to a breast clinic? I've had numerous symptoms over the last 6 months. Been back and forth to the doctors who have referred me to physio had a blood test back in Jan that didn't show anything other than low iron. No improvements, no discoveries. I'm not a doctor, but going from my symptoms (recurring infections, neck, upper back, shoulder, collarbone pain, night sweats, exhaustion, hives, sore throat on one side, pain in neck and collarbone when deep breathing in) my guess would be to investigate for something lymphatic?
Any advice or similar experiences?
