Endometrial lining

Hello everyone,

I’m here looking for a little advice. I’m 38 and have been experiencing very heavy and painful periods for over a year along with night sweats and regular loose bowels. I had a TVS just over a week ago that showed fibroids, a cyst on my left ovary and looking at the print off of my scan 16mm thickness in my endometrial lining. I’m not seeing my gp for nearly a month to follow up but I’m very concerned as the lining wasn’t mentioned on the text I was sent about the scan outcome. Could anyone advise on my next step?

thank you

It's understandable that you're feeling concerned about the findings from your TVS and the thickness of your endometrial lining.

Firstly, it may be helpful to reach out to your healthcare provider's office and ask for clarification regarding the thickness of your endometrial lining as they may be able to provide additional information or reassurance over the phone, or they may advise you to schedule an earlier follow-up appointment if necessary.

Additionally, you could consider keeping a symptom diary to track any changes or new symptoms you experience before your follow-up appointment. This information could be valuable for your medical team in understanding your symptoms and determining the appropriate next steps.

There are many others who will understand exactly how you're feeling.  Hopefully some of them will be along shortly to talk to you and offer support as speaking with those who can relate does seem to help. In the meantime feel free to reach out to our team of nurses if you feel like talking with someone medically trained over the phone might help. They're available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m on this freephone 0808 800 4040.
