Waiting time for a biopsy. Feel frustrated.

I bled for 3 months and felt bloated and sore. Was told by doctors bleeding was normal. And referred me for a scan which would take 4 months. I ended up going private for a scan and my endometrium is 20.12mm. The sonographer told me to see my GP asap. So I did and Doctor said he suspects cancer. And was referring me for a 2 week urgent referral for a biopsy. 3 weeks has past and I haven't got an appointment for a biopsy. When I phone the hospital they say it could be 4 months wait. I feel so worried and don't know what to do. Did anyone have these symptoms and turn out to be okay? Im only 34.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. It's completely understandable to feel worried and frustrated with the delays in getting a biopsy appointment.

While the waiting can be incredibly stressful, it's positive that your GP recognised the urgency and referred you for a biopsy. However, it's important to remember that many conditions can cause symptoms like prolonged bleeding and a thickened endometrium, and not all of them are cancerous.

In the meantime, continue advocating for your health by staying in touch with your healthcare providers and expressing your concerns about the wait time. Consider discussing your worries with your GP again or seeking a second opinion if possible.

Remember that you're not alone, and it's okay to lean on your support network for reassurance and guidance during this challenging time.

Wishing you strength and courage as you navigate this process,
