Persistent lump in throat

Hello all,

I'm a 41yo male and have suffered from acid reflux since I was about 18. For the past few months I've had a lump feeling in my throat which worsens when I cough.

Along with this, swallowing has become a little more difficult over the the past couple of years. And the last few months I constantly have a dry mouth.

As you can imagine these are all the signs of esophageal cancer and I'm worried sick.

Has anyone else suffered anything similar?

Thank you,

Matt

  • Welcome to the forum Matt although I'm sorry to hear about your symptoms and for the worry they are causing.

I'm not sure from your post if you have seen your doctor about this yet, but if not, do make an appointment when you can as they'll be able to examine you and let you know if this is any cause for concern. Hopefully that won't be the case, but it's always good to get any persistent or worrying symptoms checked out, if only for peace of mind.

Hopefully some of our members will offer their thoughts and advice to you soon as well but in the meantime, we're thinking of you Matt and will have our fingers crossed everything will be o.k.

    Kind regards,
