Rising ca125,ultrasound clear,very scared,pancreatic?

Hi. So 12 months ago my ibs changed,I couldn't work out what was going on,I had stupidly started vaping 2 months before the change,so I assumed it was linked to that.then I was losing weight ,by Xmas I had lost 8kg so I had a colonoscopy, which was clear. I was still losing weight, loose stools daily, most floated, some back pain and nausea. The gp then said do a ct,but it was cancelled as my ca125 was 44.i went for an ultrasound and it was clear. Went back to the gp,as now at 10kg weight loss(quit the vape) and he said we need to do the ca125 again. This time they did x2 and it was 56 and 58. He said I will get a ct in the next 2 weeks

For the past month I've gone clean eating, gluten free etc.and my stools most days are now solid and sink, apart from if I eat food out.i don't know if its cross contamination (gluten intolerant not celiac)or the food has been fatty, but the next day I have loose floating stools, that look brown, but are yellow when I wipe.

I'm so scared. I'm 43,I'm trying to stay away from Google, but im convinced its pancreatic cancer.

I know you can't diagnose me here, but, can I have rising ca125 and it just be inflammation, or my gall or pancreas not working properly, or does it always mean cancer

Thanks

  • Hi Sugarandsweetner,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to hear of your worries - I hope that it's not long for you to wait for your appointment and then any results to follow.

As you say, it's difficult to advise or give answers here - only your doctor can do this, and usually after any tests that may be necessary.

It's never easy while waiting for appointments, so try to stay busy and focus on other things as much as possible. Also try to steer clear of Google, as a lot of the information will not be relevant, and it only tends to increase worries.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
