Hello,
Looking for some advice/shared experiences, I fell sick with a bad head cold about 9 weeks ago. Around the same time (within a few days) I felt a raised lump under right my armpit. It seems to have got smaller over the past 9 weeks however, sometimes it feels like it's gone back to the original size when I first felt it (about 1cm) in length. What's strange is there seems to be two bumps, one above the other with a flat bit in between on the outer muscle in my right armpit (further side away from breast). There is no pain, though the skin around it is red and looks irritated. The GP could feel it and remarked she wasn't sure if it was lymph nodes or that the edge of my muscle was ribbed. It does feel ribbed as where the lump/bumps are they move in the centre (like flatten) when I run my fingers over them and then return to being raised. I don't have this on the opposite armpit. It's strange.
I am being referred to a breast clinic under urgent for an ultrasound as I am 31 & have had the lump/bump for over six weeks.
I can't see an obvious lump or bump in the mirror, just where the skin looks red and irritated, but I can feel it with my fingers by pressing up and down under my skin.
I am getting a bit of anxiety about it, I did have a breast examination yesterday while at the GP and she said everything looked/felt normal aside from the abnormality under my armpit.
FYI, I had a lump back of my neck 5 months ago that was there for 12 weeks before it went down and still hasn't gone completely. Saw GP twice over it and I did fall sick with a viral around the time the lump formed on my neck. I was told it was a lymph node and that's why I waited six weeks before making an appointment as I have put it down ot a swollen lymph node all this time. I had to wait three weeks til my appointment (9 weeks in total)
