I’m worried this is Basal cell carcinoma

Hi all,

I have had this mark on my face now for 6-8 weeks. Firstly the doctors said it was due to hormones post partum. But when it started to look more red they referred me to a specialist who I see next Tuesday.

Just looking to speak to someone and wonder if this could be Basal cell carcinoma

im so scared

  • If you do have basal cell carcinoma- it’s the best skin cancer to have with a high success rate of getting it all and not having it spread. Good luck if they do a biopsy. I’ve has skin cancer twice and just had two more biopsies for different skin cancers. I should know the results next week. It’s hard waiting for results. Try to stay busy. Good luck!

  • Hi

Just wondering if you've been seen yet.

I have a small mark on my cheek which the GP didn't think was anything serious, however she's sent some photos to the dermatology dept under the two week suspected skin cancer pathway? I;m so scared.

  • Hi All

Thought I'd update you on my appointment this afternoon. The nurse consultant whom I seen was the nicest person ever. By the time she called me in, I had got myself into a right state (not helped by the fact I have a chest infection at the moment) - she asked why I was so petrified and I told her that I had health anxiety since my son died unexpectedly.

She asked me to show her where the area was as she hadn't received the photos that the GP had allegedly sent her? She looked at it and said right away, - I can tell you right away without even using my dermascope that it isn't skin cancer. It's Seborrheic Keratosis and she said the good news was that they rarely turn into skin cancer. I cried again - lol. She was so lovely and kept hugging me. I asked her what I should do about some other moles I have and she said to go back to the GP and they would refer me again to go back and see her.

Thank you to everyone on here for your support and I hope you all get the results that you want.

  • It's wonderful to see some good news here.

    You must feel like celebrating.

  • Thanks Sharza. I do once this chest infection goes xx
