What's the chances? Complex Fibroadenoma

HI Guys

I am so confused

I've been to the consultant today what a roller-coaster!

He told me when he seen me last week he was 99% sure it breast cancer as my mammogram and ultrasound scored 5/5 for breast cancer.

However the biopsies show a rare complex fibroadenoma which he couldn't believe it as he was so adamant it was cancer so he wants to remove it and test it properly to check it's definitely not cancer or pre cancer as its so rare for it to present like that.

I'm hoping this means it's good news but not completely out of the woods yet. Very confused and now just have to wait for operation date mentally drained

Has anybody had any experience if this please

Many Thanks x

  • It definitely sounds like you've been through a lot JoC, but it's reassuring to hear how thorough your consultant is being by wanting this removed so they can double check what's going on.

I know this leaves you in a strange sort of limbo, but many of our members have been in this position too, so you are not alone, and hopefully some of them will stop by soon to share their experiences and advice.

If you'd like to talk any of this through with one of our cancer nurses, they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're really easy to talk to and will do all they can to answer your questions and support you during this anxious time.

We're thinking of you JoC and will have our fingers crossed an operation date will come through soon.

    Kind regards,
