10 weeks and counting

I was told 10 weeks ago that I had tumours on my liver. I am still waiting for a diagnosis. I phoned today about results for my octreotide scan. The consultant had them. He has not added me to  MDT tomorrow so I need to wait until next Wednesday. What are my rights? Am I able to find out the results?

The waiting is killing me. I'm signed off with anxiety.

  • Hello Ncgibs,

I'm sorry for what you're going through. Waiting for test results and a diagnosis can be incredibly stressful.

You might want to reach out to your consultant directly to express your concerns and request more information about your test results. If the waiting is impacting your mental health, consider seeking support from your GP or a mental health professional.

Hopefully, others who have had similar experiences will come along shortly to offer advice. That being said, if you feel like asking some questions to our team of nurses, they'd be happy to chat with Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m on this freephone 0808 800 4040.

Once you know more, please come back and give us an update. We're keeping our fingers crossed for you.

    With best wishes,

    Renata, Cancer Chat Moderator
