I had breast cancer 5 years ago and have been taking Tamoxifen since then. I’ve just been urgently referred to rule out womb cancer as I had a random bleed more than one year after my last period. I’m 52. Anyone else had this ?
I am not sure what the link is between Tamoxifen and womb cancer but I have found information on our website on risks and causes of womb cancer which has a paragraph on Tamoxifen and mentions that "Tamoxifen can increase womb cancer risk. It appears to have a similar effect to oestrogen on the womb." However, it does underline that this "this is a rare side effect of taking it" so the risk seems very small. It's good that they are looking into it though and that you flagged this bleeding.
