Breast Lump

Hello everyone.
So recently I've been having underarm aches and aches around the breast to.  I went to the doctors after my mother in-law confirming I had a lump a quite big lump. The doctor did also Confirm theres a lump there with some swelling. I have been made an appointment to go to the breast clinic on the 25th the feeling I'm getting is a constant dull ache and my left arm will randomly go numb. I've no idea what the outcome will be but I can't help but think whatever it is its pressing on some of my nerves. Anyone got anything?

  • Hello Stacey28,

You did absolutely the right thing in going to the doctor's after you spotted this lump and it won't be long now until you are seen at the breast clinic. I thought I would share with you information from Breast Cancer Now on what to expect from your breast clinic appointment to help you prepare a little ahead of your appointment.

I hope that it all goes well and it turns out to be nothing of concern. It is worth bearing in mind that a majority of breast clinic referrals turn out not to be cancer but it's important to have all this thoroughly and properly investigated.

I hope that you will hear from other members of our community who have been through this before and felt a similar dull ache - make sure you mention these symptoms when you see the specialists at the breast clinic.

Best of luck for your appointment and best wishes,

  • Hi, well you took the first step by seeing your GP. I have been to the 2WW breast clinic at least a dozen times over the years as I get breast lumps every few years Each time it is scary but each time they have been benign cysts. Apart from one which needed to be aspirated, they all went away in their own.

The key is that you found the lump and did something about it. Early detection is key.

Fingers crossed it will all work out fine for you
