Potential skin cancer

Eight years ago my husband was successfully treated  for bladder cancer within bcg Two years ago he had blood in his urine again after 4 lots of antibiotics I asked.tne GP for a 2 week possible cancer referral He said I was over reacting We paid and guess what a patch of cancer in his ureter Kidney removal not an option as the tumour is on the side of his "good"kidney The other kidney is compromised due to previous kidney stones Our consultant has been controlling the cancer with 6 monthly laser and  a uteric stent also changed when the laser is done The CT scan in Feb showed  small patch of cancer still contained in ureter but also slight swelling in other kidney Stent change and laser due at end of month However a few weeks ago a lump appeared on his scalp we have seen a dermatologist today who thinks it is cancerous and he is having a biopsy on Monday he mentioned secondary cancer or maybe primary and now I'm  sick with worry The Feb CT scan did show his lungs were ok no cancer The lump is hardish red and dome shaped it leaks at night on to his pillow when he is asleep I assume due to pressure on it  it've been on Google tho I know I shouldn't I'm im worried it's nodular melanoma Anyone experienced anything similar

  • Hello Wilbert

I'm sorry to hear about all that your husband and you have been through over the past few years and that now he's facing a possible diagnosis of skin cancer. It's understandable that you're feeling worried ahead of Monday's appointment.

Hopefully you won't have to wait too long for the biopsy results and the team will be able to give you some reassurance about this.

If it would help to talk through your concerns with one of our nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information, and support they can.

Keep in touch Wilbert and let us know how you both get on.

    Best wishes,
    Jenn

  • The biopsy has been done the Drcsaid the cancer is poorly  differentiated which isn't good and ut looks like an aggressive  cancer Results in about 10 days My husband has no symptoms of any kind just the lump His ct scan on his lungs was clear last month The thickening  of the kidney isn't giving him problems but i can't help feelingbits the beginning of the end I know I shouldn't Google but I am and I'm worried he now has less than 6 months to live

  • Biopsy done poorly differentiated in words of Dr looks like aggressive cancer I'm worried it could be secondary from ureter cancer and my husband hasn't long left He is fit and well to all intents no weight loss loss of appetite  pain of any kind  I'm going crazy on Goigle in the early hours when he's asleep Results in 10 days We have no family and I lost my best friend to pancreatic cancer a couple if years ago It was only a few weeks from diagnosis to her death
