Have a modest raised area on my left hip which looks very similar to some pictures of squamous cell carcinoma. (I have had a jolly good look round a number of sites to ensure that I am allowing for the variations that can exist.) Have noticed something for a couple of months or so, but it has changed - growing and becoming somewhat more raised and has a crusty top. Now around 1 cm across and maybe 2 mm high.
In addition to the actual thing itself, I am getting discomfort (pain would be far too strong a word) which seems to be directly from the lump straight into my upper leg/hip area.
Have just made a GP appointment but the soonest available is 8 weeks away. I don't want to agitate for an earlier appointment if that is reasonable. And it might well be. There is much made of the word "slow" in relation to SCC.
Anyone care to comment? Content to wait if that is OK but if it isn't, I might as well start asking for an earlier appointment sooner rather than later.
Also, is there anything specific I should be looking out for? Obviously if it gets bigger, faster, or painful. But any more subtle issues?
