Breast lump

Hi all, I am after some reassurance or positivity at all. I have found a lump in my boob and went to get this checked at the doctors. The doctor could feel it straight away and said she thinks it’s a cyst as it’s smooth and mobile. She said she isn’t worried and would refer me to get checked to make sure for peace of mind.
I got my hospital appointment through and go on Monday but I am out of my mind with worry! I am an anxious person anyway but this has sent me west!
I had a lump 18 months ago and wasn’t as worried as I am now and went to have this checked they did an ultrasound and confirmed it is breast tissue and an enlarged milk duct and didn’t take biopsy’s etc, but now I find that I am worrying they missed something and it’s spread and I have lower back pain too and I’ve diagnosed myself.
the doctor told me they might take some fluid from the lump and I am thinking the worst. Has anyone been through anything similar?

I'm sorry to hear about the anxiety you're experiencing regarding the lump in your breast. It's completely normal to feel worried in situations like this, especially given your past experience. Remember that the doctor's initial assessment is often a reassuring sign, as they have expertise in identifying common characteristics of different types of lumps.

While waiting for your hospital appointment, try to focus on staying calm and taking care of yourself. Engage in activities that help you relax and distract yourself from worrying thoughts. Remember that self-diagnosis can often lead to unnecessary stress, so it's best to wait for the medical professionals to provide you with accurate information.

Hopefully, others who have had similar experiences will come along shortly to offer advice. That being said, if you feel like asking some questions to our team of nurses, they'd be happy to talk things over with you Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m on this freephone 0808 800 4040.

Wishing you strength and reassurance as you await your appointment on Monday,
