Complex Ovarian Cyst

Hi, I’m hoping someone may be able to help reassure me.

I went to my doctors with pelvic pain, constant bleeding and pain when having intercourse. She gave me an internal and found it was my ovary causing the pain. I was referred for an internal and external ultrasound. They found a cyst. 6 weeks later I had another scan and found it was a complex cyst and had grown half a cm in the 6 weeks.
I’ve just been referred to Gynacology and I’ve got to wait until 19th November. Is this normally the case?

I thought complex cysts were the more cancerous type and that I would be seen a lot quicker

im so upset - I’m looking into private but I’m unsure what to do

  • Hello Holidays,

Cysts can occur naturally, so the time to wait for further tests does depend. There is information on the NHS website on ovarian cysts, which you can refer to at anytime. I'm sorry to hear your upset. If your symptoms change at all or you have any questions or queries do update your doctor, they may have cancelations available.

    I hope this helps,
